Information for Participants
Registration and Package Collection
For those registered on-line, package can be collected at the Symposium venue from 8.00 am on 2 December and throughout the Symposium duration. On-site registration can be done at the Symposium venue from 8.00 am on 2 December and throughout the Symposium duration. On-site credit card or cash payment is possible.
Coffee & Tea
Coffee, tea, water, fruits and snacks will be available during the whole symposium.
Lunches
Buffet lunches will be provided adjacent to the symposium hall during the whole symposium.
Welcome Reception
Welcome reception will be on 2 December 2017, starting at 6.00 pm, after the last technical presentation at Wyndham Grand Istanbul Levent Hotel. The reception is free to all delegates.
Banquet / Gala Dinner and Turkish Tunnelers’ Day Celebration
The Symposium Gala Dinner (Banquet) will be on 3 December starting at 7.00 pm in Wyndham Grand Istanbul Levent Hotel. Turkish Tunnelers’ Day will also be celebrated during the Banquet, including live music and dancing. Banquet dinner is included in the standard symposium registration. Additional banquet dinner tickets will be available on-site with cash purchase.
Name Tags (Badges)
All delegates will be issued with a name tag upon registration. Please wear the name tags when attending the symposium and symposium activities. Lost name tags can be replaced at the registration desk.
Symposium Proceedings
The hard copy symposium proceedings, as well as the soft copy proceedings in a USB stick, will be provided for the all registered delegates. It will contain all the full-papers (oral or poster presentation) accepted by the symposium scientific committee. Additional proceedings USB can be purchased at the registration desk.
Speaker Preparation
Speakers should have their presentation on a USB stick. Speakers are required to meet with their session chair and upload their presentation onto the symposium computer during the break prior to their session or earlier. Prior to their presentations, the presenters should provide a short CV for the section chairs. IT and AV assistants will be available during the whole symposium.
WiFi and Internet
Wifi will be free during the whole symposium at Wyndham Grand Istanbul Levent Hotel.
Special Dietary
Please pre-inform the symposium secretariat if you require a special dietary. The meals will include vegetarian dishes.
Transportation in Istanbul
The easiest way to move around in Istanbul is by affordable and comfortable taxi. Istanbul also has a good public transportation network, including the underground metro system (IETT). IETT tickets and public transportation card can be bought at any IETT stations.
Tourist Information
Istanbul is one of the most popular tourist destinations. Tourist information, including maps and guides will be available at the symposium registration desk. Representatives of the “International Tunneling Symposium in Turkey” will not organize any sightseeing or technical tours. Delegates can contact the hotel or travel agents for organized sightseeing tours.
